I'm pretty sure that bombardier defense was spun up in the time before Canada gave a damn about its military, so they had to make decisions that made sense in that environment. Being honest, before Carney, Bombardier had good reason to expect that most of their orders would come from south of the boarder, so it made sense to set up close to their potential customers. I'm just glad that they are still owned in Canada, and not just an arm of another American defence prime. I'll take my wins where I can find them...
