I fear politics are taking the lead in this procurement as opposed to the larger more capable (IMO) offer from Korea. With every announcement from the procurement of HIMARS to the possible use of LAV variants used for the mobile artillery there seems to be less and less of Hanwas package offer being required almost systematically eliminating its relevance while simultaneously boosting the TKMS advantage yet ignoring the fact that TKMS cannot truly meet Canadas delivery timeline needs especially if they are awarded the Poland contract. One submarine by 2035 does not cut it nor do they give a promised timeline for the delivery of the next 11 with their overbooked orders as it is. It's not rocket science to see in delivery timeline alone KSS-III is the only viable option if Carney truly is putting National Defense first then he needs to get his behind to South Korea and get a contract signed. IMHO lol.
Truuuuue, but I don’t think the sub program rides or dies on the other offerings. Like, they’ll still sell us subs even if we don’t buy their rockets or mortars/howitzers. So I’m not sure how much that matters in the end.
And side note, they’re also very interested in our LNG regardless as well.
