Department of National Defence to accept Naval Large Tug, Canso

Media are invited to join the Honourable Lena Metlege Diab, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, on behalf of the Honourable David J. McGuinty, Minister of National Defence, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, for the acceptance of Canada’s third Naval Large Tug.
When: February 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Atlantic Time.
Where: Canadian Forces Base Halifax, His Majesty’s Canadian Dockyard, Jetty NH, 2633 Provo Wallis Street.
What: The Department of National Defence will accept a third Naval Large Tug for the Royal Canadian Navy, and provide an update on the Naval Large Tug project.
