Followup on Canada’s JLTV purchase
A quick followup to last week's JLTV purchase. I have recieved word back from the Department of National Defence confirming that the intent is for these to fulfill the requirements fir CANSOFCOMS Next-Generation Fighting Vehicle project:
In support of Canada's 2017 Defence Policy: Strong, Secure, Engaged and renewed in the Defence Policy update: Our North, Strong and Fre this project will acquire Next Generation Fighting Vehicles to replace our Special Operations Force existing fleet of High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWV).
We anticipate a Letter of Offer and Acceptance (LOA) to follow shortly. Neither the submission of the Letter of Request, the receipt of Congressional Notification, nor an LOA commits Canada to the purchase of the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle.
Once received, the Government of Canada will review the Letter of Offer and Acceptance.
Chalk this up to Murray mixing up projects. No fault to him, it happens. Theres lots of similar projects all running around at the same time. That makes it a bit confusing.

I still want to see Canadian designed and produced vehicles in the mix. If we don't use our own, how do you grow your export markets?
