Noah Note: Hurray for capacity! I know quite a few of you have mentioned not liking a lot of these venter and facility announcements that have been popping up the last few weeks. I get it. It feels like a bunch of words to many.
However these kinds of facilities are very improtant. Canada lacks a lot of the defence-related testing infrastructure we need to tackle a lot of the modern threats that we're talking about, be that AI, Quantum technologies, Hypersonics, or investing in things like unmanned systems and how to counter them.
I plan to talk about these gaps sometime? Definetly soon. For now it is good to acknowledge that there is a lack, and for startups and SME the lack of easy access to this infrastructure is a natural roadblock that can quickly derail their plans, if not the whole company. Its infrastructure that they themselves can't always afford to invest in.
That goes the same for limited infrastructure. No infrastructure is bad but Canada is a big country. That means that having one facility for certain things just doesmt cut it. The distances are too grand, the expenses too much. Access only exists if its, well, actually accessible.
