Do we have any insight into the IP rules for these types of engagements? If something useful to Canada results from these new investments, will we have rights to use them, or will be tied to the whims of the Pentagon like we are with other LM products? I don't think that we want to be in a position like Ukraine, where we can acquire weapons but aren't allowed to use them as we see fit.
A good question, TrueCanuck. If the CMS 330 intellectual property is not protected by Canadian law and possibly subject to American ITAR, then we’d better great our brightest minds working on our own IP and solutions.
I would assume that Canada owns the IP for CMS 330. When the German Government acquired the system, it was a government to government deal between Germany and Canada.
