I just read that the steel for the RCD must be imported, that we don’t make the type of alloy needed for a warship. If so, I’m mighty disappointed. I thought the objective of the NSS was to not only redevelop our warship building skills again, but to use our own resources to build the hulls (weapons TBD at the time). So here we are on a trade war with our former best customer, but left unable to divert our steel toward one of the largest steel consuming projects in the country. What gives?
