CIB certification is not a self-declaration. It confirms, through independent review by an Indigenous-led national organization, that Marshall Land Systems is majority Indigenous-owned and controlled, backed by proof of ownership, control and heritage. In a sector where Indigenous participation is increasingly a procurement requirement, verification is what separates genuine ownership from a logo on a bid.
What this means for our customers and partners:
Assurance for buyers. Government departments, Crown corporations and corporate buyers with Indigenous procurement commitments can count work with Marshall Land Systems toward those commitments with confidence, and can find us through CCIB’s Supply Change marketplace.
A credible Indigenous teaming partner with engineering depth. We deliver deployable operational infrastructure, vehicle-integrated mission modules, medical and diagnostic systems, and through-life in-service support to NATO standards. Indigenous content from Marshall Land Systems is real capability, not a pass-through.
Simpler procurement structures. For teams building toward Indigenous content requirements, Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB) Indigenous commitments or set-aside eligibility, our certified status removes a layer of due diligence and risk.
Canada’s Defence Industrial Strategy is explicit. Its fifth pillar commits the Government to work with provinces, territories and Indigenous communities, and the Strategy states that Indigenous Peoples should play a central role in rebuilding Canada’s defence industrial base, supported through direct contracting, public-private partnerships and regional investment. It builds on the mandatory minimum 5% Indigenous federal procurement target and signals an increased Indigenous multiplier under planned ITB policy changes. In-service support and specialized land-systems manufacturing are also named among the ten sovereign capabilities to be built in Canada under the Build-Partner-Buy framework.
Those are our lanes. An Indigenous-owned company operating in sovereign capability areas, with allied-market delivery and a verified ownership structure, is exactly what the Strategy is asking industry to bring forward.
Indigenous participation in defence cannot stop at 5%. It has to mean ownership of industrial assets, control of intellectual property, skilled careers in Indigenous communities, and a seat at the table when capability decisions are made. Certification is one step. Delivery is the rest.
To the primes, departments and allied partners we work with: we are ready to build with you.
