The introduction of the full portfolio precedes the highly anticipated launch of the MDA CHORUS™ constellation later this year.
Leveraging the company’s next generation MDA CHORUS™ constellation, the introduction of MDA CHORUS™ COMMAND, MDA CHORUS™ COMMAND PRO and MDA CHORUS™ INTELLIGENCE offers customers a complete portfolio to customize, manage and control their geointelligence workflow — from data collection planning to tasking to decision-ready insight.

MDA CHORUS™ COMMAND:
The operational entry point for the ecosystem, this intuitive platform allows customers to search the archive, define areas of interest, set imaging priorities, tip and cue, and schedule acquisitions. It includes Application Programming Interface (API) connectors, guides and a knowledge hub, streamlining and consolidating customer access to MDA CHORUS™.
MDA CHORUS™ COMMAND PRO:
Enables maximum customer control of the system by integrating an MDA CHORUS™ regional ground station directly into a customer’s operations, providing direct downlink and near-real-time local processing — eliminating latency and delivering the independence that defence and critical infrastructure customers require.
MDA CHORUS™ INTELLIGENCE:
A comprehensive suite of geointelligence data and analytics products leveraging decades of SAR expertise and spanning maritime awareness, vessel detection, oil-on-water, ground deformation and energy infrastructure monitoring. The suite draws on SAR satellite images and telemetry, value-added geographic information system (GIS) data files and reports, and integrated third-party data products.
MDA CHORUS™ Constellation:
Powering the portfolio is the MDA CHORUS™ Constellation, a three satellite system fully integrating two new spacecraft — one X-band, one C-band — delivering high-revisit, all-weather imaging on orbit, anchored by RADARSAT-2, the company’s world-leading EO platform already on orbit.
Today’s product announcement builds on the official opening last month of the company’s new MDA CHORUS™ Control Centre, marking another operational readiness milestone as momentum builds for the constellation’s launch in late 2026.

Noah Note: We're slowly approaching the launch of Chorus, and as such it shouldn't be a surprise that we see MDA start advertising it's product lineup related to it. The company does a good job explaining here what Chrous is, but I always like to include my own description.
CHORUS is MDAs Next-Generation, commercial Earth Observation Satellite constellation, and builds off the companies work on the RADARSAT Constellation. The constellation will comprise of two satellites. CHORUS C is being built off the back of the Radarsat program, and will come equipped with a C-band synthetic aperture radar (SAR).




CHORUS X will be its partner. It is being developed in partnership with ICEYE, utilizing their third-generation satellite bus. It will be equipped with an X-band SAR. To quote a bit on capabilities:
“CHORUS will be able to image at a maximum swath width of 700 km with CHORUS C, and a highest resolution of 0.25 m with the Spotlight mode on CHORUS X.
Both CHORUS satellites will be placed into the same orbit, with CHORUS X trailing CHORUS C by 60 minutes. The orbit will be an inclined, non-sun-synchronous orbit, at an altitude of approximately 600 km and inclination of 53.5°. The imaging time will shift earlier by about 20 minutes per day, allowing CHORUS to view the same region at different times of the day.
The mission has a design life of 15 years, with CHORUS C expected to remain in operation for the full limetime. However, it is expected that multiple versions of the CHORUS X satellite will need to be launched to sustain the full 15 years.”
CHORUS will also come equipped with a Vessel Detection Onboard Processing system (VDOP), allowing it to Identify, observe and Track Maritime vessels and traffic. CHORUS will soon launch onboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, with commercial operations to start next year.
Chorus is actually a very unique constellation in itself. It is one of the few commercial constellations utilizing a C-band, including the existing RADARSAT constellation and Spacetys HISEA, although I wouldn't put HISEA and Chorus in the same class. It's a further continuation of the legacy and skillset MDA has already built-up.
The value of a C-band system when it comes to Maritime Monitoring will be especially useful to the existing base of CLS customers that MDA will be bringing under it's banner with their acquisition. Chorus is already looking to be a significantly popular system before launch, which is more importsnt to secure our spot in its allocation.
We are looking at a replacement satellite for the RADARSAT Constellation, which is good, but it isn't going to provide the same capability as Chorus. Similarly, DESSP is still a far way out from replacing the capabilities provided by RADARSAT. Chrous helps fill that gap, and provides a modern, dual-band constellation that can go a long way in supporting Canada (and our allies) domain awareness.
