The Honourable David J. McGuinty, Minister of National Defence, concluded a successful visit to Poland, where he attended the 34th International Defence Industry Exhibition (MSPO). With Canada serving as MSPO’s 2026 Lead Nation, the exhibition provided an important opportunity to showcase Canadian defence innovation, deepen cooperation with Poland and other Allies, and advance new industrial and commercial partnerships. These engagements support the objectives of Canada’s Defence Industrial Strategy, Security, Sovereignty and Prosperity, while strengthening Canada’s contribution to a more secure Euro-Atlantic region.
The visit also showcased the strength and innovation of Canada’s defence industrial base, advanced export and procurement opportunities, and supported greater collaboration between Canadian companies and partners in Poland and across Europe. New business-to-business agreements reached during MSPO further demonstrated the potential for deeper industrial cooperation, innovation and economic growth.
During a bilateral meeting with Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Minister McGuinty signed a renewed Defence Cooperation Agreement (DCA) between Canada and Poland. The renewed agreement provides a strengthened framework to deepen cooperation on defence industry and capability development, military cooperation and training, and shared strategic defence priorities. It builds on the longstanding relationship between Canada and Poland as NATO Allies and reinforces our shared commitment to collective security.
The visit highlighted the important role defence cooperation and industrial partnerships play in advancing Canada's security and economic interests. Through continued engagement with Allies and industry, Canada is strengthening its defence capabilities, supporting innovation, and creating opportunities for Canadian companies at home and abroad.

MSPO is Europe’s third-largest land-based defence and security tradeshow, and the flagship defence event in Central and Eastern Europe.
The 2026 edition, the largest to date, featured more than 40,000 visitors, 900 exhibitors, and 60 official delegations, with Canada designated as the lead nation featuring a trade mission of 158 companies and 29 government organizations.
The Canada-Poland DCA was signed in October 2022.
Canada and Poland share a long history of working side-by-side in several NATO and United Nations Missions, including the Canada-led NATO Multinational Brigade Latvia.
Noah Note: No mention on the Drone Deal from yesterday. The Polish side of things continues to give details where the Canadian side remains silent. I can't confirm if the deal was signed today, as the Polish side is also silent, which tells me there are still details to perhaps work out? At this time we wait for official word.
The deal is still very much alive though, from what I am told. Keep in mind, last minute snags and release delays do happen at times. It isn't the most strange thing. We will continue to look into this though. We as in me, as always, but if anyone wants to monitor Polish google….
