The Honourable David J. McGuinty, Minister of National Defence, will travel to Poland from September 7 to 8, 2026 to attend the International Defence Industry Exhibition (MSPO), where he will be joined by the Honourable Maninder Sidhu, Minister of International Trade. While participating at MSPO, the Minister will strengthen defence cooperation with Poland and other Allies, showcase Canada’s defence industry, and advance investment and industrial partnerships. For 2026, Canada is designated the lead nation and will feature a trade mission including over 200 organizations and more than 300 delegates.
Together, Ministers McGuinty and Sidhu will engage with Canadian and international businesses and stakeholders to promote partnership opportunities across key sectors, including defence, aerospace and advanced technologies, while advancing Canadian companies’ access to international markets. These activities support Canada’s Defence Industrial Strategy by strengthening domestic defence capabilities, building more resilient supply chains, deepening industrial cooperation with Allies and partners, and enhancing the global competitiveness of Canadian industry.
During his visit, Minister McGuinty will also meet with his Polish counterpart, Minister of National Defence and Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.

MSPO is Europe’s third-largest land-based defence and security tradeshow, and the flagship defence event in Central and Eastern Europe.
Held annually, the 2026 edition is expected to be the largest yet, featuring more than 40,000 visitors, 900 exhibitors, and 60 official delegations.
Noah Note: MSPO is one to watch next week. I expect that we will see some good movement and Industry announcements here. Wouldn't be surprised to see something on the Federal side, but I leave it at that. I have no clue. If there was a time to do a rumored drone deal? This would be it.
