Minister McGuinty to deliver keynote address on Alberta’s support to Canada's defence and security

The Honourable David J. McGuinty, Minister of National Defence, will be traveling to Alberta from August 5-8, 2026, to highlight the Government of Canada’s long-term commitment to the province and its important role in Canada's defence, security, and innovation ecosystem.
Media are invited to the University of Calgary on August 6, 2026, where Minister McGuinty will deliver a keynote address. As part of his address, Minister McGuinty is expected to make an announcement in support of Canada’s commitment to rebuilding Canadian defence capacity and investing in the Canadian defence industry. A media availability will follow the remarks.
When: Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 9:00am (MDT).
