Minister McGuinty to make announcement on Canada’s sovereign space program

The Honourable David J. McGuinty, Minister of National Defence, will make an announcement related to Defence and Canada’s sovereign space program.
When: Mar 16, 2026, 11:00 a.m. (media must arrive NLT 10:15 a.m. for escort from front gate).
Where: The Canadian Space Agency’s David Florida Laboratory operated by MDA Space, Shirley’s Bay Campus, 3701 Carling Ave, Ottawa, ON
What: An announcement related to new investments in space-related infrastructure and capabilities. The Minister will be available for questions after the announcement.

Because the announcement is taking place at a secure location, additional security measures are in place.
All media seeking to attend the event must provide proof of Canadian citizenship (in the form of a Canadian passport or other legal document) upon arrival or they will be denied access to the event, without exception.
