Moldova: The National Army will be modernized with over 100 new Roshel Senators
Press Release + Noah Note

CHISINAU, June 30, 2026 — The Ministry of Defense and the Estonian Defense Investment Center concluded today the framework agreement and contract on the purchase of over 100 units of state-of-the-art military equipment for the National Army from the Canadian company Roshel.
The action is part of the assistance package for the years 2022-2025 aimed at strengthening the mobility and transport capacities of the National Army, implemented with the support of the European Union, through the European Peace Facility (EPF) program.
The total cost of the project is over 50 million Euros and constitutes a non-refundable European grant. The purchased vehicles are to be delivered by May 2027.
During a meeting with representatives of the implementing company, Defense Minister Anatolie Nosatîi thanked them for their receptivity and openness, highlighting the importance of the European Union's consistent support for strengthening the defense capabilities of the Republic of Moldova.
"A modern and strong National Army means peace and security for the country, and the European Union continues to support us on this path, including through the European Peace Facility. This acquisition will contribute to the modernization of the training process, increasing the interoperability of forces, enhancing institutional resilience and gradually aligning with European standards. It is another essential step towards the modernization of the defense sector and a clear signal of the EU's commitment to the security and stability of our country," said Minister Nosatîi.
Noah Note: These aint the first Senators to end up in Moldova, with deliveries from last year, but from what I know they are very well loved. I am very happy to see a Canadian company take the reigns of supporting outside partners, who exist outside out general space but still exist as collaborative partners to our collective defence.
Roshel of course now has several areas of European operations. The company is now peoducing Senators inside of Ukraine, and has an established partnership with Czech OMNIPOL for the joint production of vehicles. They have an established European capacity, which is very likely to be bolstered as their new relationship with Daimler takes stage and develops.
That is one area I am very excited to see. It opens a lot of exciting opportunities for the company. Chief of all, if I am not mistaken the Captain still uses an Iveco chassis. Something I would like to see shift under this partnership, among other things but I digress.
This makes Moldova one of the more significant Senator operators, joining many of the other expanding users like Mexico, Brazil and Haiti. That is of course not Including Ukraine. Also missed was Senator deliveries to Guam a few months ago! That also isn't spoken about much.
It's a great showing for a company, amd a growing testament to Roshels diversifying list of partners and customers.
