National Defence will hold a public consultation session in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories

April 9, 2026 – Yellowknife, Northwest Territories – National Defence/Canadian Armed Forces
The Department of National Defence (DND) will hold a public consultation session to exchange information and answer questions regarding planned infrastructure projects as part of the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) modernization and continental defence initiative at the forward operating location in Yellowknife.
Residents of Yellowknife and surrounding areas are invited to participate. Representatives from the Department of National Defence will present an overview of the project, describe the planned infrastructure, and answer participants' questions.
Date and time: Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. (TAR)
Location: Explorer Hotel – Katimavik Room D, 4825 49th Avenue , Yellowknife, TN X1A 2R3
Event: The session will begin with a presentation, followed by a question and answer period with community members. The venue is wheelchair accessible. Parking is available on-site and on the street.
