GDLS? I’d prefer something more Canadian like ITPS (since he’s in London). Or go to Rochelle vice GDLS.

Ya , the Canadian government seems to think foreign subsidiary company's that have 1 plant in Canada are considered " Canadian " lol . However , LAV's are front line IFV's , built for direct combat in a mechanized frame work under Canadian Military Doctrine . Think in the same category as the German Puma and U.S. Bradly the difference is wheeled vs tracked but the armor is the same level , its built to take Russian 30 MM from the front and Russian 155 artillery round from 5 meters ( NOT a direct hit obviously but still , thats pretty dam good armour , add the ability to maintain the speed of 110-120 KPH across broken open ground for as long as you need and its a prime piece of kit . Rochelle ( or any one else in Canada for that matter ) makes NOTHING close to the capabilities that a LAV offers , Even older variants of the LAV like the LAV III are preferred to anything made by Rochelle at the moment . Dont get me wrong Rochelle makes really good kit buts its Tier II ( second line ) protected logistics transport , medevac , battle taxie etc . They are NOT built for direct combat , a 15mm,20mm,25mm,30mm etc will go through the Senator like shit through a goose , like like a 25mm going into a BMP3M ...you DO NOT want to be inside a vehicle like that in a situation like that . However Battfield realities in Ukraine must face pushed the senator into Direct Combat and it sure beats the hell out of a Ford Windstar but its NOT an IFV . Dudes are riding mopheads into battles and using mules for logistic transport on both side , so the Senator is a Great Kit but ....its not an IVF or AFV and if all possible it should be used to replaces the mules for logistic transport , replace the mopheads with IFV's .

Yup, but if we went with a purity test the list of possible suppliers would get real short real quick, a legacy of years of dependence. LAV was designed in Canada based on a Swiss platform, they employ 1700 people in London and as you said no one makes anything close in Canada.

Just wondering if they will be announcing more LAV purchases or the Grizzly self propelled howitzer. Methinks they will save the Grizzly for another announcement.

If this is GCAP, I look forward to how he is going to sell this.
