REDspace signed to modernize aircrew training with a unified digital portal for SkyAlyne
Press Release

Halifax, NS and Ottawa, ON — Friday, February 27 — REDspace, a Canadian tech solutions company, has been subcontracted by SkyAlyne to help deliver a bold new digital vision for the Royal Canadian Air Force’s (RCAF) Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) program.
As part of the agreement, REDspace will design, develop, and deliver the FAcT Web-based Portal and Data Integration solution. The portal will be the “digital front door” internally for FAcT: a single, secure hub where all users will access the tools, resources, and data they need to prepare the next generation of Canadian aircrew. Behind the scenes, REDspace will build the integration layer using its own Unified Digital Framework (UDF)— an open, scalable tool that ensures the entire system can connect, share data, and evolve over time.
A smarter, simpler way to train
Instead of navigating a maze of disconnected systems, trainees and staff will log in once and see everything they need. With single sign-on and role-based dashboards, the portal will give every user a streamlined, personalized experience. The integration layer, powered by REDspace’s UDF, will unify data across the FAcT enterprise, enabling advanced analytics and giving decision-makers a clearer view of performance and progress.
“SkyAlyne is proud to be building and delivering the FAcT program, and working with a word-class organization like REDspace is essential to the long-term success of the program,” said Kevin Lemke, General Manager of SkyAlyne. “REDspace’s integration layer and portal will help simplify training and directly support our ability to train the world’s best aircrew.”
Built for today, ready for tomorrow
REDspace will future proof the FAcT program by delivering an integration layer with its Unified Digital Framework (UDF), meaning the system can grow and adapt over the next 25 years. As new technologies, like AI continue to evolve, they’ll plug seamlessly into the framework, enabling continuous improvement for FAcT to remain the future of aircrew training.
“REDspace has been at the leading edge of immersive information systems for decades and has developed scalable high-performance solutions serving millions of digital consumers around the world. This pedigree has led SkyAlyne to select our UDF solution truly representing the best of dual-use technology. FAcT is a generational program that validates our offerings and provides long-term stability for REDspace to advance its defence products domestically and to export markets beyond,” said Ken Howard, Defence Practice Lead, REDspace.
FAcT is an all-encompassing 25-year solution that will deliver ab-initio training to RCAF Pilots, Air Combat Systems Officers (ACSOs), and Airborne Electronic Sensor Operators (AES Ops). The program is currently in a multi-year transition period to become the sole ab initio Pilot and Aircrew training program for the RCAF, as the current three separate RCAF training programs conclude, and their responsibilities are combined into FAcT. The FAcT program is overseen from a Joint Management Office at SkyAlyne’s Ottawa headquarters, with three operational bases: Moose Jaw, SK, Southport, MB, and Winnipeg, MB.
