Maybe the ROKS Daejeon was also sent to Canada as a way for South Korea to promote the Daegu class ship as the ship for the Continental Defence Corvette (CDC) program to replace the Kingston class ships!!! If so ... I approve!!!
South Korea is offer a build I'm Canada solution with the KSS-III submarine ... the same thing could be applied with the Daegu class ship for the CDC ships!!!
I don't think so - I think there would be a lot of changes to the basic design (ie Polar Class 6 hull) that the RCN will probably go with a clean sheet design. Noah said that a lot of the Canadian Shipyard designers are chomping at the bit to design this ship once the requirements come out.
Just like yesterday, the news mentioned the KSS-III's take off, and now they're in Canada.
Hanwha've sure stepped up to the plate where we don't see TKMS doing anything close, instead of bragging about German-build quality which we haven't tangibly seen outputs of.
Great pics. I'm trying to imagine a Canadian Naval Ensign flying from the conning tower of the KSS-III.... 😊
Yes, it would look great! Patience, patience, I keep telling myself.
That last picture, with the lighthouse in the background, is pure gold.
After a month under sea, no rust!

Except I don't expect the CDC to carry a 127mm main gun. ;D
Regardless, the powers that be want the CDC to be designed and built in Canada.
