BRISTOL, United Kingdom, Oct. 01, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Scott Aerospace UK (the “Company ” or “Scott Aero ”) is pleased to announce the establishment of Scott Aero Canada , a Canadian-incorporated subsidiary, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, that will initially operate out of COVE workspaces in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, on Canada’s east coast. This Canadian expansion will serve as the Company’s hub to support the Royal Canadian Navy and commercial maritime customers, coordinate with regional suppliers, and facilitate two-way trade in defence and maritime equipment between Canada and the United Kingdom.
The Company’s expansion into Canada reflects Scott Aerospace’s commitment to strengthening maritime and defence supply chain capabilities by directly supporting the Canadian naval ecosystem, including major shipbuilding and maintenance activities in the region. The Company plans to collaborate closely with regional organizations involved in naval shipbuilding, maintenance, repair and overhaul, and emerging defence innovation initiatives in Atlantic Canada.
“Relationships matter to Scott. Establishing a subsidiary, Scott Aero Canada, in Halifax is the natural next step for Scott Aerospace as we continuously seek new opportunities to support our customers and partners,” said Martin Lee, Managing Director at Scott Aero. “Halifax is a strategic centre for Canada’s naval shipbuilding and maritime defence opportunities. By establishing a local presence, we can work more closely with regional suppliers and help Canadian companies access opportunities in the UK and European defence markets.”
Scott Aero’s UK team already supports the Royal Navy and international navies as a full Prime Contractor with rapid sourcing and expediting of critical parts, compliant procurement processes, and integrated equipment support across defence and commercial fleets - the Halifax presence will extend that model to North American customers while creating new pathways for Atlantic Canadian firms to export into the UK and European defence supply chains.

Noah Note: COVE is such a beneficial ecosystem. Not only are they providing desperately needed networking, trialing, and R&D capacity on our East Coast, but they've also been a wonderful ecosystem that foreign industry is collaborating with to support Canadian expansion.
To clarify a bit, Scott Aerospace is a UK-based defence and maritime support company headquartered in Bristol. It acts mainly as a supply chain and equipment-support partner for the Royal Navy. Its services cover sourcing, procurement, expediting, maintenance, repair and through-life support of mission-critical equipment.
The company entered into the defence sector back in 2020. In 2025 it was named sole supplier on the Submarine Mechanical and Secondary Steam Propulsion Equipment Support (SMASSES) contract to support the Royal Navy submarine fleet's main steam turbines, turbo generators and steam system valves in support of the Royal Navy Submarine fleet.
The company also holds a place on the Marine Systems Transformation (MaST) spares framework, which supplies non-combat equipment to Royal Navy warships and submarines.
There is a surprising amount of collaboration on Submarine support that already exists between Canadian and British Industry. Babcock Canada is obviously the primary provider of maintenance and In-Service Support to the current Victoria-class through VISSC, and AtkinsRéalis obviously inherited a long-time relationship in the UK's Nuclear Submarine ecosystem, a relationship further cemented through things like Rolls-Royce's Capability Assured Strategic Partnership.
The relationship is there and the opportunities will only grow through both the Canadian Patrol Submarine Project and further opportunities to collaborate on joint platforms like the Type 26. Having established links between industry, links that yes can and will run both ways, is important.
Companies looking to bring that existing expertise, and support that two-way link are often underappreciated. Supply Chains are the foundation of function, someone once told me that, yet it is also an area that oftentimes gets underdiscussed by many. I think stuff like this is exciting, and I am very interested to see the possibilities that arise from it.

More good news! Noah, I frankly have no clue how you stay on top of all these defence, education, investment matters. But keep up the excellent work and take a little energy rejuvenating break on occasion.
