The Update
Hello!
Wow! Three months goes by quickly! I honestly didn't even notice that it had gotten to the point that I had all but left this place on a mini-hiatus. Believe me, it wasn't intentional.
Sadly between the holidays, my dear work schedule, and a recent move to a new city. My time has been taken up quite a bit. Combined that with a wonderful month of dealing with back to back sick kids? I have been a busy boy.
So, let me address some things off the bat:
Yes, I will be posting regularly again
Yes, there will eb some changes
I envisioned this substack primarily as a place to throw some longer form content seperate from my twitterspace, where as many know is my main area of activity. The limits there constituted the move to a new location that could take more detailed content than Elon provided me.
However, in the last three months since my last piece, I've received a lot of questions about here, and a lot of people interested in more content here compared to Twitter. That's made me take a step back a bit and reevaluate my posting habits.
I'm not giving up Twitter, at least not yet, but I do think that I need to start doing more here, though admittedly I struggled to think how for quite a while.
To start, I'll be posting shorter content, at least shorter than what I've been doing. My currently length per piece in about 8000 words, not outlandish, but certainly quite a bit. It takes time to write these, and leads to big droughts of content.
I don't wanna get rid of them, they are the primary focus on this blog, but I do want to do shorter, more manageable content. I want to make sure I can avoid any unnecessary droughts.
I also want to do less analytical and opinion based pieces. While these are fun, they aren't quite my wheelhouse. I am not a foremost expert. I am not a professional. I am not a Choi, Lagasse, or Massie. It truely isn't my specialty, but I do plan to keep doing them from time to time.
So what am I thinking of doing? Right now I have a few ideas:
• Canadian Sunday was well liked, so I think we'll be bringing that back
• Biweekly/Monthly project updates. Likely monthly as projects don't update often
• long form content, both shorter and longer content will continue
• Requests, as always, are taken and I will continue yo work on them. Keep on mind, for project requests, it takes time for me to gather information and ask around
This seems like a fair set of content to do, time permitting. The Q&A also remains open! I am able to take basic questions there, but I'm also open to discussing topics if that is an interest! I will never shutout conversation and debate amongst the community.
On another note, to address, I've also been asked recently writing/podcasts/spaces for others, and I'm honestly very flattered! I will say that my availability is very time dependent. I have several projects on right now, and a fifty-hour a week work schedule on average. That is on top of three kids!
I am always available for contact. I am quite the easy person to reach, either here or on my Twitter where DMs are open. I promise, I'm a chill person. I won't bite! If you would like me to write for you or appear on something, while I can't promise myself, I am genuinely open to the idea.
It's going to take me a few weeks to get back into the schedule and system. I also, admittedly, wanna get some content prewriten and ready to shoot out before fully committing to this schedule.
In the meantime, a new piece will be coming Monday/Tuesday! It will be a test of the shorterform content ~4000 words. It will also likely be my last opinion piece for a while.
Thank you to all the love and support I've gotten! This is a fun hobby for me, and I'm happy I get to share it with so many others.

I really enjoy your writings here, glad to hear that you're back! Today's piece on defense industry. was a great read. I'm keenly interested in all the topics you covered, but find myself without the time to do much research (I have a 3 year old and a newborn!) It's really nice to have these to read, without having to navigate through 15 different defence journals and manufacturer press releases.
I'm ex-Army and now a CPA. So all things Canadian defence combined with policy, management, and economics just scratch a certain curiosity. I haven't found this level of detail on specific Canadian projects written about anywhere else.
Thanks Noah.
