A Res APCs? Hmmm... Sounds like a certain concept that a certain Twitter militia member proposed.
Choose the right vehicle, & we can build a whole family of Protected Mobility fighting vehicles (includong for A Res).
As for A LAV, there might be support variants with a .50 cal/ATGM... But I really hope the bulk/IFV variant do stick with something bigger. 1st because it we have typically underinvested in lethality on our platforms.
Cynically, 30 or 35mm canons on ALAV also keeps .50cal as a viable, lethal, option for ARes (can't have A Res be as lethal as RegF now, can we?)
You mention a 'reserve APC' and that it appears off the table for now... Is this seperat from LUV? Local reserve is technically armour, but they have no armour. I've been hoping that they would get some senators in the near future, but now you have me guessing. All their TAPVs are broken, all their g wagons are broken, and all their side by sides are broken... It's more than a little bit absurd.
