TNSR meets with Secretary of State Fuhr, attends DEPLOY, and shares two new products proposed for 2027
True North Strategic Review (TNSR) today concluded a successful trip to Ottawa, meeting with Secretary of State Fuhr, attending DEPLOY at SAAS NORTH AI, and engaging with a wide range of companies and organizations across Canada’s defence ecosystem. It was also a chance to share Opening The Conversation, our 2027 proposal book, with government and industry alike, all during the week of Budget 2026.
On the government side, TNSR was honoured to sit down with Secretary of State Fuhr to speak deeper on the Canadian defence ecosystem. We also discussed TNSR’s work over the past year, including our engagement with partners in Sweden, Korea, and the United States. We provided him a copy of Opening The Conversation, which outlines our development plans heading into 2027 and how we plan to better engage with government on National Defence.
On the industry side, TNSR attended DEPLOY, the dual-use defence tech summit presented by Dominion Dynamics at SAAS NORTH AI. Between DEPLOY and the rest of the trip, we met or engaged with Dominion Dynamics, Zighra, AVSS, CTRL, Anvil, BDC, Invest Ottawa, North Vector Dynamics, KPMG, Deloitte, MEERV, Navacord, Robotics Centre, and Hypersonica, among others.
Industry engagement is at the core of Opening The Conversation, and TNSR is proud to share two new products proposed for 2027 under the plan. The first is a proposed monthly newsletter built for industry and our sponsors. It would bring together the month in procurement and contracts, lobbying trends, the month’s rumours, sponsor news, our numbers, and the events ahead, and our sponsors would help shape its name and format.
The second is a proposed weekly roundup, which would collect the week’s news and updates that don’t get a post of their own into one short read. The plan also proposes adding provincial lobbying records to This Week in Defence in 2027.
Like the rest of the plan, all three are open for feedback through our sponsor and industry consultation, which now runs until December 1st, 2026. The full plan will be released with our 2026 Annual Report in December.
