🇨🇦💙 Going granular on Toronto Global the math ain’t mathin. They are a non-profit investment attraction agency created to bring investment to Toronto -The President and CEO is Stephen Lund makes over $400,000/year. Worth noting: the actual call for a transparent process came from Toronto Global (in a press release today), not from True North Strategic Review. Their Substack piece appears to have been reporting on the DSRB announcement itself ONLY.

Total Toronto Global operating expenses: ~$8.9 million But Labour, Consulting and Professional fees total $7,4 million. Nice try. 😏 Some non profit.

Toronto would seem like a no-brainer, but I wonder if it's proximity to the US should give pause, especially if it remains a rogue actor and develops an international outlook similar to Russia and China. It would be relatively easy for them to render the headquarters ineffective or inoperative in any annexation scenarios. The best place to put it might be Edmonton, but they're not bidding, so Ottawa would be the next logical choice.
