Hello everyone. I hope you sre all doing well today. I wanted to provide an update regarding our coverage of the ongoing tragedy in Wainwright. Forthose who want to keep track of official announcements and resources, our live thread is still being updated as we get information. We will continue to update through the day.
LIVE THREAD: Ongoing Incident At CFB Wainwright (Updated: 1:46PM EST, 10/18/26)
The Municipal District of Wainwright No. 61 has provided an update in the ongoing fire occuring after a reported incident at CFB Wainwright.
To address from yesterday, we have elected not to include rumors or speculation in the thread, and will not be reporting on speculation. This is to ensure there is a resource available, providing both statements and video, that is easily accessible and able to be used as an official resource for updates as opposed to mixing them in with speculation and what people hear.
I have also elected, personally, to not engage in speculation and rumors so I can better spend my time and resources supporting those who might need me today. Again, as I was last night, I am here if anyone needs to talk or needs someone to keep them company through the day.
I have many friends in Wainwright and beyond affected by this tragedy. On another note, check in on people. The world is small and the trauma and grief over this tragedy extends far past Wainwright. Make sure those around you are doing good and managing this, especially as we head into the holiday season.
There is nothing I can provide rumors or specualtion wise that would help the conversation. For that, I recommend the CBC who are keeping up consistent coverage of the events unfolding.
Again, I will always be available to those of you who need me. I will be here as long as my body will let me, just as I was last night. Please, remember also there are resources to help, even if you are not personally affected by the tragedy but feeling like you need help. CFMWS is there to help you, and I shall include their notice as well for those of you who might want it.
Please, do take care today everyone and take a moment to give thought and prayer to those affected by this tragedy.

Thanks for staying on top of this Noah. As a former Air Force brat and sailor I always have a soft spot in my heart for our service personnel. This hits close to home. My thoughts are with the families, friends and those affected by this tragedy.
