Update to whats going in in September (everything is actually pushed back)
A few weeks ago I wrote a fun piece discussing some of the things planned for this month. At the time I was led to believe these were fairly accurate and set.
I guess not.
See, we had a lot planned for this month, and indeed a lot has come true. We got the Sub announcement, Coast Guard order, the first look at restructuring… however, as the month draws to an end, a lot of things have changed.
I was going to put it in the newsletter, for obvious reasons. However, that didn’t feel fair in the slightest. So consider this a quick update, very quick. Keep in mind that some things can still happen. This isn’t definitive. However, some things have been pushed around. So, very quickly:
HIMARS: Was supposed to be this month. However, apparently there are some approvals that are still being waited on. Announcement should come ~December. Contract fully signed in Spring of 2026. Timeline is also being pushed up, so we should see the first arrive ~2028 if we get what we want. That’s far ahead of the 2030–2032 timeline previously discussed.
Fighter Review: Ongoing. More work was decided on, and there seems to be a desire to talk more with certain companies. The review has grown to be far more than expected it seems, so there is a careful approach to any decision being made, which is a good thing. No idea when it is releasing yet.
Restructuring: Release of the Capstone was pushed back to October. That might not mean the rest of it is pushed back; however, the Capstone was supposed to be the next thing released. I don’t know why it was pushed back to October.
Defence Industrial Strategy: Was supposed to be released after budget; however, budget is now in November so it too has been pushed back. Still expected before the Winter.
Technically we did get a taste of restructuring, however I want to emphasize that not everything is released for it. I also wanted to do this not just to educate but to acknowledge when I am wrong. Yes, plans do change. It happens all the time. That being said, it is still me who put the info out there.
It’s good to acknowledge when I am wrong. At the end of the day, I want all of you to have the confidence in me that I will own up if things change or info was bad. I have a very rigid and tough verification system, but things do slip through the cracks.
You guys also deserve to be told about these things outside of being in the newsletter, especially when I did a whole post about it. That’s how we maintain trust and accountability in this community.
So to make up for that, I thought I would just drop a quick update. If I hear more beyond this then I will likely be putting it in the newsletter as usual!

Noah, thanks for the updates…. Just speaking for myself… know your information is consistently proving more reliable, more complete & more in depth then a most of the so called experts writing pieces in the various media. Unlike some of the various authors out there you also aren’t pushing your preffered choice, but actually say what & why you choose something.
So yes you are more then entitled to a few mulligans.
Your Mea culpa about the changes this Month Noah is the example of credibility that folks have latched on to with your reporting. A typical Canadian lack of puffed up Ego or arrogance. Just the truth.
Keep up the great work and learn to pace yourself. I suspect you have a very strong partnership. Two thumbs up to Her.
