He was speaking at a Business Forum at Nokia Canada hosted by Finnish President Alexander Stubb. The Secretary of State released the following images amd message:

“Arctic defence cannot be achieved by any one country alone. It requires strong, coordinated partnerships, and Canada and Finland are stepping up together.
It was a privilege to speak at the High-Level Business Forum at Nokia Canada, hosted by President Stubb, today. I discussed how our two countries can deepen co-operation across defence, innovation, and Arctic security. As President Stubb highlighted, the evolving geopolitical landscape demands closer collaboration among like-minded partners.
Canada and the Nordic countries bring complementary strengths to this effort, from Arctic operations and training to shipbuilding, critical minerals, and advanced technologies. By working more closely together, we can strengthen our collective security while supporting good jobs and industrial growth at home.
This is what modern defence co-operation looks like: strategic, coordinated, and built on shared values.”
