He was meeting with German Minister of Defence Boris Pistorius and Norwegian Minister of Defence Tore Sandvik. Both of them arrived in Canada yesterday as part of the ongoing promotion of the Type 212CD for CPSP.
Minister Pistorius also visited Lockheed Martin Canada today as part of ongoing negotiations regarding CMS330, and apparently some other things though CMS330 is all I know of.
TNSR was the first publication to report of this meeting, and the second to report of the upcoming trip. Sadly CTV is full of fast writers!
Anywho, the Secretary of State released this statement on the meeting:
“Canada, Germany, and Norway share a long history of collaboration as NATO allies, grounded in our mutual commitment to peace and stability, especially in strategically vital regions like the Arctic.
It was a pleasure meeting today with German Minister of Defence Boris Pistorius and Norwegian Minister of Defence Tore Sandvik along with the entire delegation to discuss our shared priorities. As allies and friends, we continue to deepen our collaboration to diversify Canada's security partnerships.
In today's increasingly complex global landscape, strengthening our relationships with like minded allies is key to becoming more resilient and adaptable. As we explore opportunities to work closer with trusted partners like Germany and Norway, our government remains focused on building a stronger, more secure future together.”
