This sounds really neat, and I wonder when it will be compact cost effective enough to incorporate into lighter duty engines, like light and medium trucks. Oh man, a fleet manager can only currently dream of having that level of feedback and warning about major engine failure... Engines we were replacing for $7k 8 years ago are now costing $15 to 20k to replace.

This is one of those innovations, not glamorous like weaponry, but absolutely vital for engine maintenance.
