• We have an update on the Canadian Deep Sensing and Electronic Warfare Aircraft (CDSEA), and for once its a whole project description! CDSEA will provide the RCAF with dedicated airborne Signal Intelligence (SIGINT) and advanced Electronic Warfare (EW) capabilities through the provision of a dedicated fleet of SIGINT/EW aircraft, potentially augmented by additional enhancements to aircraft currently within the RCAF inventory.
It will provide the RCAF with more advanced multi-domain deep sensing and stand-off electronic attack (EA) capabilities. While the primary focus will be provision of a new fleet dedicated to providing advanced sensing and EA capabilities, options analysis will evaluate several means to provide the RCAF with the ability to detect and influence the electromagnetic spectrum.
The CDSEA capability will be globally deployable and fully interoperable with United States, Five Eyes, and North Atlantic Treaty Organization partners so the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) meets it domestic, North American Air Defense Command and international obligations.
To me this sounds like the Aussie MC-55A Peregrine. A consolation to L3? It sounds more Peregrine than HADES from first look. The augments to existing aircraft, to me, sounds likely to be the CQ9B Guardians if I had to give a first thought.
They are well positioned to be better utilized in the EW and SENSE role eith the appropriate pods allocated for them. It would be a minimally-modified, quick capability to add to them. With GlobalEye being selected as our future AEW platform, I imagine also some discussion will be had on acquiring the new pods for the Guardian as a complement. Just my thought.
• The TAPV LCAV is real! Recently, a new concept for the TAPV has been floating around that notably features a new 30mm main gun, ATGM capability, and a new sensor package. We can confirm this is both real and a serious proposal being considered. Integrated UAS and a new Add-On Armour package are also being discussed. We reported a while ago that various UAS proposals for TAPV were being discussed. The plan, for now, is for up to 300 to be converted to this new standard.
• Delivery has started on the new M4 Carl Gs.
• There are some rumors of the CDC getting a VLS increase from the proposed 16. This is coming from industry, and I take it with heavy salt but all the major companies looking to compete have allocated space beyond 16-cells.
• More Blackwolf are coming to Latvia under CUAS Phase II, we can confirm.
• To addressing rumors from last week, Canada has expressed interest in Turkish UAS, primarily the TB2 and Kızılelma but they are part of broader outreach on UAS.
• To address the Polish rumors, the same as above. There is no official deal, though talks are serious. They are one of several going on. Yes, WARMATE TL-R and FT5 are the main interest, bith of which form the basis of thr gladius system. I note again these aint the only talks, and I have been stressed it isnt confirmed.
In turn, Canadian officials hope that Poland could provide a good destination for Canadian suppliers ahead of MSPO, where Canada is the lead country as Poland was for CANSEC. Thats where such a Deal is likely to be announced. The last two days there has been talks of a Canadian GlobalEye purchase being a good aid to similar efforts to court Poland in acquiring the platform.
Canadian officials have also had talks with several others including a few Ukrainian companies, Helsing, a UK company, Frankenburg, and Pablo Air over the last little while. All the same formula, Joint Production or IP acquisition for Canadian production. As well as integrating Canadian content into supply chains.

Korea is developing its own EA aircraft based on a commercial jet platform. Do you think we're in the market to partner on something like that, or buy an existing solution?
If they were to look at the peregrine as a sop to L3, would L3 make a bombardier version for us? How much extra work would that be? I thought L3 had a bombardier and a Gulfstream version of aires, so on the surface it seemed like a reasonable option.
